Trailer Pics

These were also taken at Justin's Trailer Shoot. We were at a town outside of McKinney, Texas at these dilapidated trailer homes Justin found. They were junky and completely condemned yet I found this amazing Bible sitting open on the floor to Acts 21. "How crazy is that" I thought to myself, "to find a Bible in this run-down home?" We found more treasures than I expected. Justin even found half an old jewel case (cd case) from an old N'Sync album.

It was just amazing the things we found there. I can't even name them all.

Justin At Work

Hello there. This is my friend and photographer extraordinaire, Justin, shooting one of his leggy models on Dec. 5. She was an awesome model with a great personality and perfect moves. She totally styled herself doing all her own outfits, accessories, makeup and hair. And to top it off, she had a sense of humor which always helps. A very fun shoot. Good job, Justin! www.justinclemons.com

Our Halloween Costumes Oct. 2006

Hello there. I'm really falling behind on all my posts! This is a picture of me and Jon from this past Halloween. We were at a Birthday/Costume Party and were quite the entertainment complete with silly Spartan cheers and goofy choreography. I spent forever on those sweat tops and still didn't get them completely finished.

Jon found his pants at Ross and I found my skirt at Thrift Town. They fit and matched perfectly!

Dolly Parton

My friend, Justin, was doing a shoot for an insurance convention (didn't know they had those) Nov. 2 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. He invited me to come along as his assistant. Here I am with Old Mutual Financial Network's celebrity impersonator, Sandy Anderson, as, you guessed it, Dolly Parton.

Fall Leaves

Well, it's that time of year so I thought I'd post a little something in honor of the season.

More Commercial Than Usual...

For those viewers interested in something more commercial, I've posted some recent portraits.

Good models are hard to come by, but Loren was absolutely fantastic. We shot for about 2 hours and never once did she get what I call "camera face."

Jon's Place

Shot in a garage apartment in the back woods of good 'ole Burleson, Texas. Just saying the name, "Burleson," will give you a country twang. I believe this was the last of the "room" pics that rounded out that particular era of my "Personal Spaces" project. Although, unfortunately, the entire project is not posted together.
Lifeguard Stand

This is where I learned to swim--two years ago...
Yeah, so, I was a late bloomer.

Location: University of North Texas lap pool in the old gym.

On this particular shoot, I had a coach telling me I needed to leave. So there I was with this bulky and slow view camera trying to hussle.

I had two shots. On the second shot the cable release locked up which left me frantically trying to pull the thing out while the shutter stayed open and burned the film completely black.

Luckily, I still had the first shot. And here it is.

Jill's Place

Alrighty, photographs from the home of talented ceramicist and photographer, Jill O'Brien. How I love quirky places with character.

Ben's Place

A series of photographs from a house in Denton, Texas. This was my first venture into medium format film. Thanks to Ben for letting me shoot his place, for letting me borrow his Mamiya 645 and for patiently teaching me how to use it.

This was also shot with a 4x5 view camera. Same house, same day as Chris's Bed.

I have to say a special thank you to Chris and Coleman for giving me full reign of their place. Nothing was off limits. They often just unlocked the door for me and then left to run errands, etc.

Thanks, guys, for being so cool.

Chris's Bed

This was shot with a 4x5 view camera. There's such beautiful detail when dealing with a larger negative. There's just something about those wrinkly folds. And, like the other rooms I photograph, the space was untouched and photographed as is.

Alison's Bed

Alison's Bed

Alright, Alison. Quirky and talented gal. Always a good time.

I wasn't so sure at first that this would turn out. All the beds I've photographed previously have been unkempt and apparently she prefers making her bed.

So, while it doesn't have the same feel as the others, I think it does quite nicely in its own way.

Oh, by the way, nice pictures in the background.
The bed that started it all...

Alyssa's Bed

Well, I thought it fitting to begin with this particular photo taken in Houston, Texas. This photograph started me on the path of shooting those oh-so-intriguing personal spaces.

Early Black and Whites

This is old, old work from Photo I & II (my first photo classes ever) where I shot, processed and printed all the work seen here.

The grand female model was actually my sister.

I learned in a later photography class that you shouldn't cut off people's heads at the neck, especially women, but these were taken before I was enlightened.
